Program Questions

What makes your ACT prep different from traditional tutoring programs?

We use a coaching approach, not a tutoring model. Traditional tutors charge by the hour and create dependency. Our program is different in three ways:

First, we focus on building skills, not creating dependency. We teach students how to think through the patterns that show up on the ACT so they can solve questions on their own.

Second, we use efficient 4-8 week sprints with daily asynchronous check-ins so coaches can adjust the plan in real time.

Third, everything is personalized. We identify your student's specific weak points, create a customized practice plan, and provide a structured daily to-do list. No cookie-cutter group classes.

How much improvement can my student expect?

Our students average over 4 points of score improvement, with many achieving 6-9 point increases. Students starting in the low-to-mid 20s typically see the biggest jumps (7-9 points). Students already in the low 30s often gain 2-4 points, which can still unlock significant scholarship money.

What kind of support will my student receive?

Your student gets: a personal ACT coach matched to their specific challenges, a daily structured to-do list, 24/7 messaging support, and customized practice drills targeting their weak points. You're not just buying course materials β€” you're getting a dedicated coach invested in your student's success.

Does your program work for both "average" and "high-scoring" students?

Yes. We work with students from the high teens/low 20s up to students already in the low 30s. Students in the low-to-mid 20s often see 7-9 point improvements. For students targeting 34-36: our founder scored a perfect 36, and all coaches have perfect or near-perfect scores.

How much does the program cost?

Pricing varies based on your specific needs, timeline, and goals. Our students average more than 4 extra ACT points, and each point is worth approximately $10,000 in scholarship money. A 5-point improvement typically means $50,000+ in extra scholarships.

My student is extremely busy. Can they realistically fit this in?

Yes. The typical time commitment is about 1 hour per day, 5-7 days per week, plus 30-60 minute live Zoom sessions. It's short-term (4-8 weeks), and we schedule everything around their life. Many of our most successful students are student-athletes taking 4-5 AP classes.

Is it too late for my student to start?

It depends on their upcoming test date. Our 4-8 week sprint means students need at least 4-6 weeks before their target test. It's almost never "too late" β€” as long as there's a future test date on the calendar, there's time to prepare strategically. On your Gameplan Meeting, we'll map out the right test dates for your student's situation.

ACT Questions

What about the ACT Science section β€” should my student focus on it?

The ACT Science section doesn't test actual science knowledge β€” it tests data interpretation, reading charts, and analyzing experiments. Our coaching helps students realize that Science is primarily a reading and data comprehension exercise, which completely changes how they approach it.

Should my student take the ACT or SAT?

For most students, we recommend focusing on just the ACT. Colleges look at the ACT and SAT completely interchangeably. After the SAT converted to digital-only with an adaptive format, we found students could improve more on the ACT. Pick one test, go all-in on it, and master it.

How does the superscore strategy work?

Many colleges accept a superscore β€” they take your highest section score from each test date and average those together. Example: Test 1: E32, M27, R26 β†’ Composite 28. Test 2: E28, M32, R31 β†’ Composite 30. Superscore: E32, M32, R31 β†’ Superscore 32. We build our strategy around stacking your best section scores across multiple test attempts.

Do you recommend the paper or online ACT?

We generally recommend the paper ACT. With paper, students can write directly on the booklet, there are no technical issues on test day, and it's easier to pace yourself. We've seen too many situations where online testing centers have technical failures that impact student scores.

Should students retake the ACT if they already have a strong score?

It depends on their target schools and superscore potential. If a student has a 31 composite but target schools average 33-34, there's real scholarship money on the table with a retake. On your Gameplan Meeting, we'll look at your student's specific score and help you decide if a retake makes strategic sense.

How many times should my student plan to take the ACT?

We recommend planning for 2 test attempts. Test 1 is your "foundation test" β€” execute strategies, get comfortable with the environment. Test 2 is your "optimization test" β€” focused on 1-2 sections that need improvement, with other scores already locked in via superscore.
