From 24 to 31! My daughter was a good student, but a slow test taker. Her first try at the ACT she scored a 24 in March. She did not finish ANY of the sections due to time running out. We looked online and found Carson. He analyzed her score and discussed his approach with us to get her to get "faster" answering her questions. He also worked first on the subject she scored lowest in. She put the time in during the summer averaging about 1 hour a day for 6 weeks. She received online work that she submitted daily and received daily feedback. She retook the test in July, finished all the sections and scored a 31! The tools that Carson taught her to "get faster" will be beneficial for future test taking. Thanks Carson.
Carson's approach is so helpful to students. He first does a diagnostic on what your student knows-don't know. He gives specialized support with guided practice so real learning can take place. He is always approachable, understanding and ready to help. There are many tutors out there who just take your money and have your student work through a book. Carson is not like that at all and his approach makes getting through all things ACT so much better!
We struggled with our son's schedule as he played two varsity sports, AP classes, while maintaining a high GPA. We weren't sure how to fit in the adequate prep required to achieve the score he was after. Carson worked with his schedule and made it all feel manageable. He was super relatable to our sporty son, since he was a former college athlete. His approach was a "coaching mentality" which was something that resonated with our son.
I'll keep this simple: Carson is fantastic. He provided our daughter with a simple plan for success and instilled in her the belief that she was going to reach her goals with the ACT despite not reaching them prior to working with him. One of the biggest benefits was taking the pressure off of us as parents to keep driving her to succeed. We could just be supportive parents without nagging her to study all the time. And yes, she reached her target score. Thank you again Carson.
My daughter went through the program after a disappointing ACT score. She has above a 4.0 GPA and takes all honors and AP classes so we were surprised she didn't perform better on the ACT. After taking Carson's course she learned it's not only about knowing the material, it's also about knowing how to take the test. Learning technique and little nuggets of information that helped her navigate through the test. She went from a 24 to a 32! Amazing! We were extremely pleased with the course and Carson. He is quick to respond to emails and texts. He works directly with the student and was great about being flexible with my daughter's busy schedule. Carson created a learning plan that was specific to my daughter's goals and all her goals were reached and even exceeded. This program works!
I found Carson online while trying to find the right prep for my son. We had used a different type of program for our older daughter and while she did well, it wasn't very personalized and she did a lot of unnecessary things. Carson's approach was so different. He worked individually with my son based on his needs and schedule with sports and school. He was able to reach his goal and now doesn't have to worry at all! And we already know one college will give him over $40,000 for his grades and test scores! I highly recommend Carson.
Quick answers to what parents ask most after seeing the results above.
Yes. We've worked with 3,500+ families since 2018. Carson scored a perfect 36 more than a dozen times before building the program, and every coach on the team has a perfect or near-perfect ACT score. The Slack screenshots above are unedited captures from real coaching channels—same conversations, same scores, no marketing polish on top.
Mia went 25 to 33 and earned $134,000 at Marquette. MaKayla jumped nine points in five weeks and chose Oklahoma State out of four acceptances. Meredith hit a 35 and earned $234,264 at Kentucky. Cameron went 28 to 34. Brown got to a 34 and $60,000 at Auburn. The case studies above show starting scores, final scores, timelines, coaches, and scholarship outcomes—same kid, same plan, real receipts.
Hourly tutoring charges by the hour, which means the tutor gets paid more the longer your student stays in the program. That's a strange incentive. We're a flat-fee coaching model—your student gets a dedicated coach, a customized daily plan, and 24/7 messaging access, and the engagement ends when they hit their goal. That usually takes between four and eight weeks, not six to twelve months.
Pricing depends on your student's current score, target score, timeline, and how much coaching support they need. We don't have one-size-fits-all packages, so we don't have one-size-fits-all pricing—you'll get an exact quote on your free strategy call based on where your student is and where they're trying to get. For perspective, our students average more than four extra ACT points, and each point is worth roughly $10,000 in scholarship money. A typical 5-point improvement usually unlocks more than the program costs.
Our students average 5+ points. Many see 6 to 9. The range depends on where your student is starting from. Kids in the low-to-mid 20s usually get the biggest jumps, because there's more room and more fundamental skills to lock in. Kids already in the low 30s often gain 2 to 4 points, which is where scholarship math and admissions advantage live. On your call we'll look at your student's current score, target schools, and timeline and tell you what's realistic.
Every coach on the team has a perfect or near-perfect ACT score and has been personally trained by Carson and Martin, our Head of Student Success. Carson scored a perfect 36 more than a dozen times. We currently have more than 20 coaches on the team, and your student gets matched with one based on their starting score, weakest sections, learning style, and schedule.
Every student's plan is customized, so the specifics depend on where they're starting from and what they need. The shape is consistent though: a dedicated 1-on-1 coach, a personalized practice plan tailored to your student, regular Zoom check-ins, Slack messaging access to the coach (those are the channels you see screenshots from on this page), and a structured sprint with a clear finish line.
For most students, yes—we offer a 4-point improvement guarantee or your money back. The exact terms depend on your student's situation, current score, and how the program is set up for them, and we walk through it on the call. Our average improvement is well above four points anyway, so the guarantee is more of a backstop than a goal.
Everything's customized to your student, so the timeline depends on how far they're starting from their target and what their schedule allows. The shape we believe in is short and sharp. We've seen what happens when families spend six to twelve months grinding on prep, and it's usually not a higher score—it's a kid who's burnt out by January.
Yes. The program is designed for high-achieving busy kids. The daily plan flexes around AP exams, games, and meets, and the time commitment scales based on how much availability your student actually has each week. We have student-athletes who finish during football and lacrosse seasons. Ryder finished his during football. Charlie did it during lacrosse.
It's a planning conversation. Your ACT Planning Advisor looks at your student's current score, target schools, scholarship thresholds, and test date, then tells you what a realistic point target is and what the path to get there looks like. About a quarter of the families we talk to don't end up working with us because the timing or fit isn't right—we say that on the call. You walk away with a clearer picture of where your student stands either way.
Princeton Review, Kaplan, and most learning centers sell classroom courses, self-paced video, or hourly 1-on-1 tutoring. The model is built to scale—generic curriculum, instructors who haven't necessarily scored 34+, and pricing that rewards keeping students in the system longer. We're built around finishing. Personalized plan, dedicated coach who scored 34+, sprint-shaped engagement. We have honest side-by-side comparisons of each major competitor elsewhere on the site if you want the longer version.
Yes. We have a College Advising arm that helps with school list strategy, application essays, and scholarship optimization. A lot of families start with ACT coaching and add advising once the test score is locked in. On your strategy call we'll tell you whether you should add it and when.
